Description

A bronze plaque inset into a rough-hewn granite stele that sits on a rough-hewn granite step. The memorial, dedicated May 30, 1921, honors eight men from North Wales and vicinity who lost their lives "in the great conflict between liberty and autocracy." The plaque features an eagle standing atop a fasces, insignia representing the army and navy, and decorative swags.

The memorial is located in Weingartner Park and is flanked by similarly styled World War II and Vietnam memorials.
