Title

Logansport World War I Memorial Trees (LA)

Description

Two oak trees planted in 1923 in front of what was then the newly-dedicated Logansport High School stood until 2013 as a memorial for the local veterans who died in World War I.

That high school burned down in 1990, and First Baptist Church in Logansport bought the property. The church cut down the trees in 2013 (over local protests) so it could build on the site.
